The Business Need
Managing products, orders, payments and logistics across separate systems can create an operational burden in B2B commerce.
The aim of the Optist project was to build a scalable infrastructure that could manage these processes through a central platform and integrate with different services.
The B2B Platform Structure
The system was designed around the needs of B2B customers, going beyond a conventional e-commerce website.
- Business customer management
- Product and category management
- B2B ordering processes
- Payment integrations
- ÜTS integration
- Logistics integration
- Central administration panel
API-Based Integration Architecture
An API-based integration approach was used to enable the platform to communicate with various external services.
By separating external systems from the platform's core business logic, this structure created an architecture that is easier to maintain and extend.
ÜTS Integration
Integration with the Product Tracking System (ÜTS) was treated as a key part of the platform so that the product information required for healthcare and medical product operations could be managed consistently with the relevant systems.
Payment Integration
Payment processes were integrated with the platform so that B2B customers could complete their orders digitally.
The Logistics Process
A logistics integration infrastructure was created to track processes digitally from order placement through to shipment.
The Benefits of Central Management
Managing connected business processes through a single platform reduces manual operations and improves data consistency.
Mitrotech's Approach to the Project
Mitrotech approached the project as a custom software platform bringing together B2B commerce, integration and operations management, beyond the scope of a website alone.
The project is a real-world example of Mitrotech's approach to custom software development, API integration and B2B systems.
